Easy beef rendang recipe. Just takes some time and patience 😆

Made this to take camping, definitely a hearty feed.

Normally I would use beef asado, but felt a bit extra this time 😋

This recipe I used three cuts

  • Beef brisket (woolies) 1kg
  • Beef ribs (woolies) 1kg
  • Grainfed Australian beef (from Costco) 2.7kg
  • Dice one onion and sauté for 3-5 minutes on medium heat
  • Add 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Add 3 teaspoons salt 
  • Add 4 small cans of ayam malaysian rendang paste and sauté for 10 – 15 mins on low heat.  
  • Add 300ml of coconut cream
  • Add beef brisket and beef ribs
  • Add 1/2 cup of water 
  • Keep on low heat and stir occasionally for 3hrs
  • Take out beef ribs after 3hrs
  • Add 700mls of coconut cream
  • Add grained beef ribs (for the last 3 hrs)
  • Add one tablespoon mushroom soy sauce 
  • Add diced potato and carrot in the last hr 
  • Service with rice

Recipe (total cooking time 6hrs)

Although I didn’t use it in this recipe you could also add one teaspoon of garlic and onion powder for more flavour.

More coconut cream can be added based on preference.
